Sam Rowley photographed two house mice fighting over a crumb on a London Underground platform in 2020. After spending a week photographing mice overnight across the Underground system, Rowley captured the split-second confrontation using a remote camera placed on the platform floor. The photograph won the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice Award in February 2020.
